Jeffrey John Pinto

Jeffrey J. Pinto, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2016. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Basilio and Maria Amelia (Mattos) Pinto, he lived in Sarasota, FL for many years before moving back to Acushnet.

A graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1979, he served in the U.S. Marines and was worked in construction installing tiling, flooring, and roofing. Jeffrey was a dedicated New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He also attended St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet.

He is survived by his daughter: Lyndsey M. Niles and her husband Ian T. of Acushnet, his granddaughter: Willow Niles, a sister: Julie L. Phaneuf and her partner Daniel of New Bedford, a brother: James E. Pinto and his wife, Renee C. of Acushnet, a niece, Lauren Schaller and her husband, John and two great-nieces, Caroline and Jane.

Together with his Mother who died on January 8, 2016, his Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 9:30 am in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
