Joan D. Mont

Mrs. Mont was born in New Bedford and lived in East Freetown for 20 years and Lakeville for 31. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle (Paradis) Tomkiewicz.

Joan worked at Titleist where she met her husband. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a very talented crafter. She loved quilting, sewing, wood carving, cake decorating, weaving Nantucket baskets and attending sporting events with her children. She cherished her friends from the Tuesday night quilting guild.

Survivors include her children, Franklin C. Mont Jr. and his wife Mary Anne of East Freetown, Michael O’Brien of Washington, Sharon A. Davol and her husband Rick of Gray, ME, Carolyn J. Ingram and her husband Howard of Susanville, CA, Patricia J. Braley and her husband Wally of Acushnet; three sisters, Betty Archambault, Evelyn Oliver, Patricia Furlani, six granddaughters and two grandsons. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Benson.

Her Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:30am at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4-7pm.
