Joan M. Palmer

Born in Hartford, CT, a daughter of the late Henry L. and Helen T. (Trant) Palmer she was a graduate of Weaver High School, Hartford, CT.

Joan attended Julius Hart School of Music and graduated Bryant College of Business Administration in Providence, RI. She worked for a brief time Channel 18 in Hartford, CT. Later, Joan moved to Boston to work for Kenyon & Eckhardt, Inc., United Research Inc., and then Gadsby Hannah for 25 years. Once she retired, she enjoyed spending much time at her favorite Revere Beach and trips with friends and family.

Joan and her mother were survivors of the Hartford Circus Fire which occurred July 6, 1944.

She is survived by a sister, Beverly Carroll and her husband Bruce of Felton, DE; niece Jessica Rivers of Lakeville; nephew, Matthew Carroll of Otis; great nephew, Davin Rivers; cousins and good friends.

Her funeral will be Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middletown Rd., E.
