John Lucas Kirkwood

Born in New Bedford the son of the late George Gordon Kirkwood and Vivian Adrienne (Bourque) Kirkwood. John was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He was the owner of Graywood Painting.

Family was of the utmost importance to John; He love horses and animals in general. He was known as the animal whisperer. He enjoyed being home with family, watching the news and camping with the kids. He was a member of the Madeira Club for many years.

In addition to his wife Christine, he is survived by his children, Keith Kirkwood of CA, Nicole Rebelo and her fiancé Matthew Costa of New Bedford, Chad Rebelo and Carla Rebelo of New Bedford; four grandchildren; his siblings, Liston Kirkwood and his wife Danielle, Jason Kirkwood and Jessica Kirkwood; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Lance Kirkwood.
