Karen M. Araujo

Karen passed away unexpectedly at home on January 5, 2026. She was born in New Bedford on December 13, 1970, to Laura Rosa, who predeceased her on January 24, 2025, and Antonio Araujo, who survives her. Karen is also survived by her sisters, Jennifer Araujo and Linda Cassimatis; her children, Chad Martin and Brooke Araujo; her grandson, Myles Martin; her nieces, Haleigh Nogueira, Gabriella Cassimatis, and Annabelle Cassimatis; her brother-in-law, Dean Cassimatis; her stepfather, Manuel Rosa; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She cherished time with her family, especially her children and grandson. Karen enjoyed the beach, music, suspense movies, and reading. She was a graduate of Apponequet High School in Lakeville. She worked as a PCA for her mother until 2025 and as a waitress at several local establishments. Karen was known for her vibrant personality and passionate spirit, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:00am-11:00am at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
