Michael Olivier

Born in New Bedford, son of Jeanne (LaPointe) Olivier and the late Joseph Olivier, he had been a lifelong resident of Acushnet. He was a graduate of New Bedford high school.

Mr. Olivier was part owner of Olivier and Sons, a welding and metal fabrication business in New Bedford.

In his leisure time, Michael enjoyed motorcycle riding, traveling and spending time with his loving family.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his three children, Sarah Petersen and her husband Robert of Seekonk, Martha Torok and her husband Mark of Wakefield, RI and Lucas Olivier and his wife Jennifer of Acushnet; five siblings, Carol Robert and her husband Paul of Acushnet, Joseph Olivier, Jr. and his wife Pat of Mattapoisett, Jeannine Nachtrab and her husband Herb of Weymouth, Ann Marie Wynne and her husband David of Acushnet and Catherine Lockwood and her husband Brian of Acushnet; six grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, Joel, Seth, Evan and Josie; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Irene Weaver of Acushnet. His 3 brothers-in-law Walter Weaver and his wife Diane, Leonard Weaver and his wife Nancy, Robert Weaver and his wife Lynne, his sister-in-law Betsy Rundle and her husband John and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

His Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10am in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., East Freetown. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-5pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private.
