Patricia Silva

Patricia (Rodriques) Silva, 68, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Daniel E. Silva, Jr., with whom she shared 49 years of marriage built on love, partnership, and unwavering support.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Inez (Almeida) Rodriques. Pat was a lifelong South Coast resident and a graduate of New Bedford High School. She later earned her Associate of Science degree from Bristol Community College, reflecting her strong work ethic and commitment to personal growth.

Pat built a long and dedicated career, serving as a General Manager for Dunkin’ in the Whitman area prior to her retirement. Known for her leadership and reliability, she took great pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way. Following her retirement, she continued working as a substitute teacher at Apponequet Regional High School, where she enjoyed supporting and encouraging students.

At the center of Pat’s life was her family. She was a loving and supportive wife, a devoted mother, and a proud grandmother. She took great joy in staying closely connected to her children, always offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. She celebrated the accomplishments of her family with genuine pride and found happiness in simply being together.

Pat and Dan shared a recent love of traveling and made many cherished memories exploring new places. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading, working on mind puzzle games, and following her favorite Boston sports teams with enthusiasm. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the comfort of time spent with those she loved most.

In addition to her husband, Daniel, she is survived by her children, Daniel E. Silva III (Danielle) of Pawtucket, RI, and Melanie Almeida (Jason) of Westport, MA; her grandchildren, Jacob, Peyton, Colin, and Cameron; her siblings, John Rodriques (Katie) of Sacramento, CA, Manuel Rodriques (Suzanne) of Sutton, MA, and Kathleen Scieszka (Peter) of New Bedford, MA; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 230 Bonney Street, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
