Peter J. Olejarz

Peter J. Olejarz, age 70, of Acushnet, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief and unexpected illness. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Lagasse) Olejarz with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Frank and Cecilia (Feeley) Olejarz.

Peter was a graduate of New Bedford High School and UMASS-Dartmouth where he earned a Degree in Textile Chemistry. He worked for Stop and Shop and then Natick Labs for many years doing research. He served in the Naval Reserves, was involved in coaching youth sports, and enjoyed gardening, and spending time with those he loved. Peter adored his family and he was more than an uncle to his nieces and nephews. He always put others needs before his own. His loving and outgoing spirit and unique sense of humor will be deeply missed. He was all about fairness, and acceptance and equality for all people.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include his three brothers, Frank Olejarz and his wife Susan of Merrimack, NH, Robert Olejarz and his wife Patricia of Dartmouth and Donald Olejarz and his wife LouAnn of Lynnfield, a sister, Gayle Erlandson and her husband Mark of Georgetown; sister in-law Sandra Olejarz of New Bedford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William Olejarz, sister Sharon Domingos, and brother-in-law James Domingos.
