Born in New Bedford, a son of the late George and Antoinette (Menard) Dansereau he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Rene served in the United States Army during World War II. He later worked for the New Bedford Sanitation Department.
Mr. Dansereau was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He loved playing pool, golfing, and fishing.
He is survived by a son, Rene A. Dansereau and his wife Brenda of Marston Mills; a daughter, Karen A. Marcos and her husband Rick of Lakeville; three grandchildren, Renee Marcos, Rene Dansereau, III, and Gabriel Lemay; three great grandchildren Rene, Isabella, and Ethan; and several nieces and nephew. He was the brother of the late George Dansereau, Paul Dansereau, and Terry Sousa.
