

Born in Acushnet, he was the son of Dorothy (Lebert) and the late Roger Berche, he had resided in New Bedford for most of his life. Robert was a Retired Vietnam Navy Veteran serving on the USS Midway, stationed out of Yokosuka, Japan. Robert is predeceased by his brother John Berche.
He is survived by his two daughters, Megan (Berche) Gatti, her husband Damon “DJ” Gatti of New Bedford, and Chrystal Berche of Osage, Iowa; His grandchildren were his world. Alicia, Joshua, Damon Jr, Matthew, Aris, Dylan, Antonio (Turkey Boy) and Brooklyn.
He is also survived by his brother Roger, 7 sisters Christine, Joanne, Patricia, Karen, Bobbie-Jo, Billie Jo and Tara whom he wished he could have spent more time with.
Robert enjoyed a good smoke and spending time with his family, listening to music and scratching lottery tickets.. Before becoming ill his passions were working on his motorcycle and going to the bar where he loved playing darts and Keno. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing and wildlife cookouts where he could try unique dishes.
Robert loved tattoos and was proud of the ones he’d had added over the years. In quiet moments he enjoyed drawing, and sharing stories of the places he’d seen and the things he’d done. Robert loved traveling.
Robert was a stubborn man stuck in his ways but he was an amazing father and an even better grandfather
