Roger D.J. Peloquin

Roger D.J. Peloquin, age 84 of Acushnet, formerly of Fairhaven and Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Alden Court in Fairhaven, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucille A. (Deschamps) Peloquin, to whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Emile and Jeannette (Lizotte) Peloquin. Roger was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School and was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Mr. Peloquin was employed with the former Montaup Electric Company in Somerset for many years and later Brayton Point Power Plant, also in Somerset for 25 years as a Stationary Engineer before his retirement. In his spare time Roger enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his wife Lucille, Roger is survived by four children, Donald R. Peloquin and his wife Rose of Raeford, NC, Robert P. Peloquin and his longtime companion Betsy of Dartmouth, Richard M. Peloquin and his wife Michelle of Rochester and Laurie Cannon and her wife Michelle of Acushnet; four grandchildren Christopher, Dylan and Stormy Peloquin and granddaughter Jessica and her husband Jeff; two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Vivian Peloquin.

His funeral will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 9AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Julie Billiart Parish, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. His burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Bedford. Visiting hours will be Sunday, from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
