

Roland A. Boucher, 96, of New Bedford passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 in Alden Court after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Hilda (Moniz) Boucher with whom he had shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late George and Florina (LaPlante) Boucher he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of the former St. Joseph-St. Therese Church.
Roland graduated from Fairhaven High School and later served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Boucher was a skilled machine serviceman at JC Rhodes Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing at the Whaling City Golf Course.
He is survived by his children, Susan Letourneau and her husband Michael of Dartmouth, Roland Boucher, Jr. and his wife Robin of Acushnet, Kathryn Lopes and her husband Mark, Steven Boucher and his wife Sharon, and Michael Boucher and his wife Darlene of New Bedford; brothers, Donald Boucher of Acushnet and Gilbert Boucher and his wife Susan of Acushnet. 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was the brother of the late Theresa Sylvia.
His funeral will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
