Roland G. Lewis

Roland “Humphrey” George Lewis, age 81, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Barbara M. (St. Amand) Lewis, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel May (Ridgeway) Lewis. He graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School in the Class of 1953. Roland worked as an automotive machinist at Rays of New Bedford until his retirement. He served in the National Guard, at Fort Bragg in

the late 1950’s. He was happiest when spending time with his loving family and friends.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are his two daughters; Pamela Lewis-Varon and her husband Michael of Mamaroneck, NY and Sheri Tuberosa and her husband Richard of Halifax , MA, a grandson Jacob Varon of NY, a brother Leonard J. Lewis and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Knightdale, NC and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:00 am. Visitation Tuesday from 5-8pm. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, 567 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth, MA
