

Born on February 20, 1952, in Acushnet, Boz spent most of his life in New Bedford. He graduated from New Bedford High School in 1970 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. His military decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, the Vietnam Service Medal with one star, the Rifle Marksman Badge, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
After his military service, Boz dedicated 32 years to the Massachusetts State Police, retiring as a respected state trooper. He was also proud to serve on the State Police’s bike riding detail, a role that suited both his discipline and love of the open road.
Boz was married to his beloved wife, Diana (England) Boswell, for 53 wonderful years. He is survived by his sister, Carol Botelho, and her husband Robert; his brother, Richard Boswell, and his wife Gerri; and his brother-in-law, Raymond England, and his wife Linda. Boz was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Doris (Legere) Boswell, his brother, Michael Boswell; his mother-in-law, Julia McCarthy; his father-in-law, William England; and his brother-in-law, Joel Ormonde. Boz was the uncle of the late Justine C. Holland.
Boz embraced life with energy and passion. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and often traveled with friends on scenic rides throughout New England. He found peace at Lake George, joy in golfing and billiards, and excitement in trips to the casino. He also enjoyed camping, cooking, and spending time in Delray Beach, Florida. A spirited competitor, he played in the Working Man's Softball League for the Washington Club.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, at 2:00 PM.

Boz will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, his honorable service to country and community, and his infectious zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
