

Ronald C. Guilbeault, 72, of Acushnet passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital from an unexpected illness. He fought tirelessly for many weeks, until he passed peacefully with family by his side. Ron was also battling silently with cancer for many years.
Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Joseph E. Guilbeault and the late Rita Y. (Girouard) Guilbeault who recently passed away May 10, 2023.
Ron served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He graduated from ITT Tech with an education in automotive. He later worked as a carpenter, a maintenance man, and was skilled in many trades. He was commonly known as “MacGyver”. As said by family, “He could rewire your car with duct tape, and it would work!” Ron had a smile that was infectious. He was a friend to all and would help anyone. He will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched, and his presence will be irreplaceable.
He is survived by his children, Rebecca A. Stalter and her companion Robert Morango of Acushnet, Ronald C. Guilbeault II and his wife Kelli-Anne of Maine, Rachael E. Smith of Dartmouth, and Renee A. Guilbeault and her fiancé Sean Wilcox of Dartmouth; siblings, Janet Mello of New Bedford, Glen Guilbeault and his wife Toni of New Bedford; nine grandchildren, Alex, Aubrey, Savanah, Makayla, Neveah, Brayden, Axle, Zoey, and Oakley; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elaine Gordon.
His visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford. Rendering of Military Honors will occur at 4p.m. sharp in the funeral home. Burial will be private. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com
