Shaylene Aloha Camacho

SHAYLENE ALOHA CAMACHO, 25 - On March 20, 2017, our world got a bit dimmer. We lost a beautiful person who lit up a room simply by walking into it. But honestly, anyone who knew Shay, knew she never “simply walked into a room”. Whether she was chatting endlessly, laughing with joy or rushing in late; you always knew she had arrived. And then came her smile – her light within.

Shaylene is the daughter of Aloha (Pratt) Camacho and Daniel Dane, and Kenneth Camacho. She is survived by her young son, Logan John Chor. She is the sister to Crystal Giammalvo, Zachary and Cassandra Camacho, Felicia Dane and her significant other, Richard Rodrigues; Damion & Nick Dane and Daniel Turner. She is the granddaughter of Daniel Camacho and the late Anita and Earl Pratt and Judith Vasconcelles.

Shaylene will be greatly missed by her nieces & nephews, Mystique & Cody Camacho; Camrin and Kylie Sprague and Isaac and Richard Rodrigues.

She was loved by her uncles, Anthony Sylvia; Richard, Stephen and Michael Dane and Craig Lake; her aunts, Janet Sylvia; Susan Durivage with her wife, Fran; Michelle Abreu with her husband, Adam and Diana and Tricia Dane and Cindy Peterson. She is further survived by her father’s wife, Patricia “Dusty” Camacho; Step-Grandfather, Donald Vasconcelles; father to Camrin & Kylie, Kenneth Sprague and many devoted cousins.

She was predeceased by her uncle, David Camacho and her aunt, Carol Fortin.

Shay had an energy that surrounded her. She immediately drew you in and made you her family. And as a basic rule of physics, although that energy has now changed, it can never be destroyed. A piece of Shay will remain with all of us for eternity.

Her Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA.
