Stephen Forrest Alley

Stephen F. Alley, age 79, passed away on August 29, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Born on February 4, 1945, Stephen was known for his vibrant personality and generous spirit.

Stephen's early years were marked by his dedication to his family's well-being, as he left school in the 5th grade to work in New Bedford factories. His career path later led him to become a skilled painter in Boston, a presser at C.E.T. clothing, and eventually, he embraced the life of a cranberry farmer, contributing to companies like Decas and Ocean Spray.

Beyond his professional life, Stephen was passionate about animals, often seen walking his cat, Cindy, on a leash around his neighborhood. His love for fast cars, especially Corvettes, was well-known among his friends and family. His humor and ability to light up any room were unforgettable, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his children, Vincent S. Alley and Lisa M. Alley; his granddaughters, Chyla B. Johnson-Alley and Alyssa L. Alley; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert J. Alley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred F. Alley and Florence Corrie, and his sisters, Judith A. Kamrowski and Mary E. Desrosiers.

In lieu of traditional services, Stephen requested that no formal ceremony be held. The family encourages those who knew him to honor his memory through acts of kindness. A private viewing will be held for the family to say their goodbyes. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home.
