Steven Rebello

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Steven Rebello, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the age of 61 after a long battle with various illnesses.

Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole and his seven children: Steven Rebello & wife, Michelle; Cindy Sousa & husband, Peter; Michael Rebello & significant other, Amber Ellis; Tiffany Rebello; Timothy Rebello & significant other, Mary Pen; Mary Breton; Peter Rebello & significant other, Sarah Travers. He was a beloved grandfather to his 8 grandchildren: Madison, Jenna, Logan, TJ, Hannah, Tristan, Serenity & Levi. He is, also, survived by his brother, Eddie Rebello & wife, Tammy; his in-laws: Richard & Carole Babineau; his brothers and sisters in-law; and his dear nephews and nieces.

He was a man of strong character and determination who loved God and his family deeply. He was a self-taught individual who worked various jobs throughout his life to provide for his family. For many years, Steve was a daily communicant and made frequent visits to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady’s Chapel in New Bedford and was a parishioner at St. Francis Xavier in Acushnet. He had a strong love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, was consecrated to Her and prayed Her Holy Rosary daily. He loved spending time in his yard, whether working on the lawn or just sitting at the fire. He cherished time with family above all, not passing up an opportunity for dinner and games at the house or just a night out at a restaurant with them. Steve was an avid New England Patriots fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching the games on Sunday. He had a great love for his pet dogs, Dolly and Buddy, who always brought a smile to his face. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:00AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, 125 Main Street, Acushnet, MA 02743. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
