Susan M. Collins

Susan M. (Thompson) Collins, aged 63, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2025 at home. Born on November 27, 1961, in Brockton, Susan was a beloved resident of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a licensed practical nurse, having received her L.P.N. certificate from South Easton Vocational Technical High School. Susan worked mostly at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Center, where she touched many lives with her compassion and dedication.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, James W. and M. Doris (Flaherty) Thompson, and her sister, Carol Wyman. She is survived by her son, Dan Collins, and his wife, Pear, residing in Bangkok, Thailand, and her daughter, Jillian Collins, and her boyfriend, John, of Providence, Rhode Island. Susan also leaves behind her siblings: Joan Thompson and her wife, Deborah, of Dartmouth; James Thompson and his wife, Melanie, of East Bridgewater; Denise DiGiuseppe and her husband, Thomas, of Danvers; and Paul Thompson and his wife, Debra, of St. Stevens, New Brunswick. She was cherished by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In her personal life, Susan enjoyed listening to music, with a special love for The Rolling Stones. She found joy in spending time at the beach, savoring a good scotch, and sharing meals with family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at Rock Funeral Home, located at 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford on May 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the same venue on May 20, 2025, at 11:00 am, followed by a burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1100 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.
