Sylvia Medeiros

Born in Fairhaven, Mrs. Medeiros lived in the south coast all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Alexandrina (Santos) De Terra.

Sylvia worked as a packer at New Bedford Rayon for 13 years and then at New Bedford Thread for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of St Mary’s Church in Fairhaven where she was a member of the St Mary Golden Age. She was a member of the Jolly Seniors of Acushnet and enjoyed travelling with her husband and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Medeiros, Jr. and his late companion Jeannette Gerard of Fairhaven; her daughter –in-law Eileen Medeiros, of Rochester, wife of her late son Norman Medeiros, a brother, John De Terra of Freetown; five grandchildren, Joseph Medeiros III, Kevin Medeiros, Jodie Medeiros, Marti Bailey and her husband Ted, Lorrie Marcial and her fiancé Phil Ferreira, nine great - grandchildren, Joseph Medeiros IV, Shane Medeiros, David Norman, Sara Marcial, Joshua and Max Marcial, Maura Lee Bailey, Henry Bailey and Georgia Bailey, a great- great grandson Joseph Medeiros V and several nieces and nephews.
