Angela Batts Zavala

Angela Zavala, age 66, of Havelock, North Carolina passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. Angela was born in New Bern, NC to Mary Frances Whitley Batts and Jasper (Jack) Duke Batts.

Angela had an affinity for art and majored in Art at East Carolina University. She was employed with Carteret General Hospital in business administration for 31 years and retired in 2018. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, NC and was also a member of Laureate-Alpha-Rho sorority for 15 years.

Angela loved her husband, her kids, and all of her grandkids. She will be missed dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father Jasper (Jack) Duke Batts, her mother Mary Frances Whitley Batts, and grandson, Simon Deshane.

Angela is survived by her husband, Armando Montez Zavala; daughters, Leslie Hester of Morehead City, NC and Patty Damanda (James Ruby) of Manassas, VA; sons, Keith Offenberger (Gearoline) of Cottageville, SC and Ryan Christopher Offenberger (Stephanie) of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Annabelle Miller, Zeriuah Herrera (Armando), Veronica Ruby, Vanessa Campbell, Cruz Hernandez, Samantha Furlow, Nicole Damanda, Jack Damanda, Alexandra Vazquez, Jacob Deshane, Arika Deshane, Julie Deshane, Alice Offenberger, Zoey Quinn Offenberger; great grandchildren, Heavenly Luna Herrera Owens and Even Leigh Furlow and brothers, Tim Batts (Rex Barnwell) of Hendersonville, NC and Steve Batts (Beth) of New Bern, NC.

A visitation for Angela will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560. A Celebration of Life will occur Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Parish, 246 E Main St, Havelock, NC 28532. A Committal service will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park, 900 River Road, New Bern, NC 28562. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Annunciation gym after the Committal service.
