She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy L. Edwards.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Hinnant of Trent Woods; sons, Keith Edwards of Trent Woods and Michael Edwards of Emerald Isle; brother, Johnny Avent of Franklin, Virginia; grandchildren, Meghan Edwards of Chapel Hill and Tammy Whitten of Ayden.
Barbara will be laid to rest with family at a later date.
