She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John W. Groschan; seven children, Cathy James (Chuck), Jim Groschan (Cathy), Mary Groschan, Lisa Miclot (Pete), Jeanne Riley (Terry), Chris Cooper (John), and John F. Groschan; brothers, Daniel Counselman (Joan) and Michael Counselman (Pam); twenty-one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1 pm with burial to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family asks that anyone attending wear a face mask. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Barbara’s name to R.C.S. (Religious Community Services) of New Bern.
