Ben loved "big" and he always looked for ways to help others. He worked hard to make his family proud, traveling the country driving the truck his mentor, Sam Mwaura, faithfully entrusted him with. When not on the road, you could find him fishing, playing with his nieces and nephews, and playing his guitar. He was a proud Eagle Scout and was a HAM radio operator. During his time in the Navy, he was able to see God's wonders throughout the world. Ben had a deep and abiding faith in God and loved everyone. In the darkest of times, he leaned on his faith and used his experiences as a testimony to others.
He is lovingly survived by his parents, Ben Epting, III and Linda Bloomfield (Billy); stepmother, Patty Kelly; siblings, Lisa Lupton (Steven), Rebecca Dearien (Zachary), Carrington Epting, Kelly Brooks, and Ben Brooks; grandmother, Rita Robeson; great uncle and aunt, Owens "Reno" Crider and Ruby Epting "Sis" Crider; nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Bubba," Cameron, Jerry, Alisan, Graydon, Brooklyn, and Bellamy Faith; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Caleb.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Ted Rust officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Ben will be laid to rest at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
