

C.E. is survived by his wife, May Iha Lupton of Jasper; his daughter, Charlene Thames (Ric) of Wiggins, MS; his step-grandchildren, Cathy Thames of Memphis and Alton Thames of Wiggins; his siblings, Gene Lupton (Mona) of Kinston, Patricia Dunn (Richard) of New Bern, Bonnie Davis (Dave) of Loxley, AL, Donnie Lupton (Nancy) of New Bern, and Terry Johnson (Doug) of Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Eldridge Lupton, Sr; his mother Pattie Dawson Lupton; and his sister Mary Collins.
C.E.’s career in the Navy took him to Hawaii, New York, California, Mississippi, Vietnam, and Sicily. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the Navy Seabees as a Vietnam War veteran. After he and his brother, Donnie, restored a family house on Clear Springs Plantation (circa 1740) C.E. became a farmer in the Jasper community of his mother’s childhood. C.E. loved genealogy and was proud of his father’s Lupton heritage from Cedar Island.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service, 1:00 to 2:00pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Bethany Christian Church, Jasper. The memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Bethany Christian Church with Jason Jones officiating.
