

Curtis Ray Wagner, 80, of the Clarks community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2020. He was devoted to his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling and spending time in the mountains. He was known for selling cantaloupes and watermelons in the parking lot of the old "Billy's Ham & Eggs" where he loved meeting new people and seeing old friends. He loved the Lord and was a member of Spring Hope F.W.B. Church.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Becky Wagner; daughter, Vanessa Bryant (Bill); sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Lou Ellen Stancil, and Jane Banks; brother, Jim Wagner; grandchildren, Tamara Arizpe (Andy), Lauren Potter, and Jordan Potter; great grandson, Vincent Arizpe; brothers-in-law, Billy Gilbert and Jimmy Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Dolly Bennett and Mary Hill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lena Wagner; sisters, Thelma Anderson and Florence Albert; brothers, Frank Wagner, Russell "Dick" Wagner, and David Wagner; brother-in-law, Lloyd Gilbert; and sister-in-law, Lucy Cottle.
For those who wish to pay their respects to Mr. Wagner, a viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 21st between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home.
Due to current social distancing guidelines, the service will be private but friends are invited to view via livestream on the Cotten Funeral Home Facebook page at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21st, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Spring Hope F.W.B. Church, 100 Spring Hope Church Road, New Bern, NC 28560.
