Della Jones Tilghman

Della Estelle Jones Tilghman, 86, of Cove City went home to be with her Lord on October 12, 2016. Surrounded by her family at the home she loved, our beloved “Mammie”, as she was affectionately called by all those who loved her, left us with a legacy of love and service. She loved two things in this life, her Lord and her family. Her entire life was spent serving the Lord by being an example of God’s love to all those she encountered, but especially to her family. Her influence will live on in all of us and be passed along for generations to come, which was her hearts desire. And God said, “Well done my good and faithful servant".

Della is survived by her son and three daughters, Robert Jolly and wife, Jean; Lucy Faye Jolly; Polly Henderson and husband, Sandy; Betty Rose Jolly; brothers, William ‘Buddy’ Jones and his wife, Kitty and Duffy Jones and his wife, Marie; sister-in-law, Dot Jones; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tilghman; son, Hugh Lane Jolly; sister, Mabel Jenkins and brother, Milton Jones, Sr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home with the funeral service following visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at Daugherty Cemetery, Cove City, following the service.
