Elwood "Pete" Moore, 75, of New Bern, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. Pete was a proud graduate of Campbell University and served with the State of North Carolina in various roles throughout his 30 year career, most notably as a Driver's Education Instructor and School Bus & Traffic Safety Officer. He was a faithful member of Highland Park Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy Bizzell Moore; two children, Clayton Moore (Kelly) and Jamie Moore; one sister, Sarah Grant; and his bloodhound, "Ginger."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shepard and Ruth Moore; and brothers, Shep Moore and John Moore.
In keeping with his wishes, a private graveside service was held at Greenleaf Memorial Park, where he was laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his name to the No. 9 Township Volunteer Fire Department, 3783 HWY 55 West, New Bern, NC 28562.
