She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Cornelia McFatter Marcom.
Kaye is survived by her sister, Carol Grant Carroll; her nephew, Kevin Strickland; her niece, Wendy Jenkins; her great-nephews, Daemon Rand and Dylan Jenkins; and her cousin, Connie M. Toole and family.
Kaye had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Margo. She enjoyed reading, watching television, and living a quiet life surrounded by the things she loved most. Kaye spent most of her adult life in Georgia, where she worked for many years before retiring from Robert Bowden. Following her retirement, she relocated to New Bern to be closer to family and friends.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of animals, and the special bond she shared with those closest to her.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, North Carolina, with Dr. Jeremy Slagle officiating.
