Gail spent most of her adult life in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she married and built a successful career in business management and contracts, eventually rising to the position of Vice President. After retiring and becoming single again, Gail and her sister moved to New Bern, North Carolina, settling in the Carolina Colours community.
This new chapter gave Gail the opportunity to take up golf and form many meaningful friendships. In addition to golf, she loved gardening, cooking, spending time at the beach, and entertaining friends with her famously elaborate parties. With her outgoing, fun-loving personality, Gail truly loved to celebrate life. As one friend fondly said, “Gail has the ability to talk to a leaf and make it laugh.”
Gail lived life to the fullest and always on her own terms. Even in death, she was able to “dictate” how she wanted it to be—peacefully and with dignity—just as she lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Gail is survived by her sister, Carolyn Malin; her nephews,Kevin Clark and his wife, Darcy, and their children Katie, Carleigh, and Joshua; Ry Miller and his son, Vance and Robert Gernert; nieces, Deborah Gernert-Carter and her husband, Steve, Dianne Gernert and her brother-in-law, Guy Miller, and his wife, Noreen.
A visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00pm Wednesday, February 18 at Cotten Funeral Home.
Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Leverage family.
