George Morris Fetrow

He was a charter member and past president of Damascus Maryland Rotary Club, a U.S. Navy Air Crewman from 1944-1946 and a N.R.A. life member. George was a former Mayor Protem and council member of River Bend, former member and instructor of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Deputy Division Director and Acting Division Director in the N.R.C., and he was the executive officer of several food distribution companies. George graduated from the University of Maryland in Business Administration and Economics. He was a member of the River Bend Golf and Country Club and Fairfield Harbor Trap Club. He was a SCORE counselor, New Bern Chapter.

He is survived by his long-time partner, Shirley Truslow and his sons, James Fetrow of Milwaukie, OR; John Fetrow of Mahtomedi, MN; one brother, Ward Fetrow, Jr., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm at Lakeside Chapel, Greenleaf Memorial Park, Thursday, December 11, 2014.
