He was a member of Garber United Methodist Church.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Alice. He is survived by a son, William E. Gast of Burtonsville, MD; daughter, Patricia L. Conmy of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Richard Gast and his wife, Barbara of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-laws, Virginia Williams of Olney, MD and Mildred Bell and her husband, Raymond of Reston, VA; grandchildren William B. Gast and Christina J. Gast; nephew, Jeffrey Gast of Indiana; niece, Sandra Upton of Reston, VA; and a special friend, Diane Hawkins of New Bern, NC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Garber United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
