George Anthony “Tony” Haskins, 53 of New Bern, left this world, September 27, 2011 after a long courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Tony had many interests including, Nascar, football, repairing cars and houses, and anything to do with the Neuse River. He loved animals and children and he cherished his friends. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but he is with us always in our hearts and minds. Tony was a true southerner, confederate to the core.
He is survived by his parents Robert and Dera Haskins, his brothers , Gil Haskins and wife Sandra, Robbie Haskins, his sister, Donna Medford and husband David, all of New Bern, one son, Mark Haskins of New Bern; two daughters, Jessica Haskins of Raleigh; Brooke Wilson of Charlotte; three grandchildren and two nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday September 30, 2011 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at Cotten Funeral Home A memorial service will be held Friday September 30, 2011at 8:30 PM at Cotten Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Haskins family would be greatly appreciated.
