Pastor Iredell "IC" C. Wyatt Jr.

Pastor Iredell “IC” C. Wyatt Jr., 93, of New Bern went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 2, 2023. He was born June 26, 1926, to the late Iredell C. Wyatt Sr and Reca Wyatt of Richmond, Indiana.

Through his life IC joined the Marine Corp during the Korea Era leading him to Camp Lejeune where he met his wife of 68 years, Joyce. The couple returned to Richmond for a couple years before returning to New Bern. Once back to New Bern, IC was involved in the community in many ways. Most known for cofounding and pastoring the Trenton Pentecostal Church, as well as the shop owner of Wyatt's TV Sales & Service, he also helped the community as a Volunteer Firefighter, Magistrate in Craven County and a Scout Leader. Outside of his family and faith, his greatest love was that of Golf. He was an avid Golfer, often telling people he could still "shoot his age" until his body would not support the sport.

He is survived by his two children, Gracie L. Jarman (Michael) and Ire”dell” C. Wyatt III; grandchildren, Brandon Wyatt Haines (Erica), Iredell “Cam”uel Wyatt IV (Morgan), Krystin Thorson (Chris), Carla Henries (Ricky), Kelsey Del Wyatt (Justin Parker); great grandchildren, Thomas Wyatt Haines, Edward Mitchell Haines, Troy C Wyatt, Jake L Wyatt, Nathaniel G Wyatt, Raeghan J Wyatt, Noah J Wyatt, Avalee Thorson, Parker Thorson, Raenly Henries, & River Blake; and siblings, David Wyatt, Shirley, Jimmy Wyatt & Irene Johnson.

IC is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary “Joyce” Stanley Wyatt. His parents Iredell & Reca Wyatt and siblings William, Alvie, Walter, Donald, Evelyn, Charlotte & Linda.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church, 261 NC-41, Trenton, NC. Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church. A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow the funeral service at Greenleaf Memorial Park at the Lakeside Chapel. Iredell will be laid to rest beside his loving wife, Mary “Joyce” Stanley Wyatt at Greenleaf.
