

Jack was born at the Coast Guard Station in Hobucken, North Carolina on August 9, 1939.
He's preceded in death by his parents Dallas Edward Quidley Sr. and Lena Swindell Quidley; wife Peggy Waters Quidley, brother Billy, sister Lorena Leonard and step-grandson James Howell IV. Jack is survived by his wife Alice; son Randy, wife Jane; daughter Kim, husband Danny Fisher; brother Dallas Quidley Jr., wife Sadie; brother Elton Quidley, wife Pam; sister-in-law Verna Quidley; grandchildren Amanda Ormond and husband Mike and great granddaughter Emily Grace; Randal Quidley, wife April and great grandson Jack Randal Quidley IV; Laura Lyn Copeland, husband Ray; Daniel Fisher, wife Nancy and their children; Nicole Buchanan, husband Jon and their daughter; Lauren Fisher. Stepchildren: Susan Broggi, husband Russ; James Howell, wife Lynn; Robert Lane, wife Giulia. Step-grandchildren: Rusty Russell, wife Kim; Matthew Russell, wife Hailey; Susan Soden, husband Will; Charlie Cotto, Alex Cotto; Russ Broggi and Jason Broggi and twelve step great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews and their families.
Anyone who met Jack knows he was a loving dad, husband, granddad, great granddad, and friend to all. Jack enjoyed nothing more than serving others, cooking for family and friends in Jack's Shack, or hanging out at his son's store, Riverside Hardware and Paint. In his earlier years he loved to fish, shrimp, or spend time on the water. He coached youth baseball for Tabernacle Baptist Church and loved attending games. He served as a volunteer fireman for New Bern, a deacon for Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years, and was a member of his local Masonic Lodge, Doric Lodge 568, York Rite Temple, Sudan Shrine, and Order of the Eastern Star. Jack was also a member of Temple Baptist Church and frequently worshipped with family at Gethsemane OFWB Church.
Jack retired as a mail carrier from the US Postal Service. He served his country in the US Air Force; later, he enjoyed working for the NC Ferry system.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 27, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at their home, 1213 Park Dr., New Bern, NC.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude for all of the prayers, love, and support they have received in this time of great loss. They're grateful for the unconditional love and care given to him by Craven County Hospice and Home Health, especially Martina Owens and Denise Jones, also special thanks to Dr. Fujimagari and staff. .
