He was Owner and Operator of Boyd’s Hair Styling which served the community, and surrounding areas for 63 years. He was a US Army Veteran and member of Bern Masonic Lodge # 724. Mr. Boyd took pride in working in his yard and he loved spending time with his two beagles, Jack and Ginger.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sarah Jeanette Godley Boyd; three sons: E. Wayne Boyd, Kenneth R. Boyd and Dennis N. Boyd all of New Bern; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Gleason officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Cotten Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
