Mr. English was my 7th grade teacher.  We had a good rapport with each other.  Some of the class was acting up one day and he took me out to the hallway to make an example to the class.  Mr. English & I both knew I had not done anything wrong.  Once the two of us were out in the hallway, he took that wooden paddle and proceed to hit it on the bottom of his foot, as if using it on me.  Then , we went back into the class.  That class surely straightened up after that.  :D      Sending thoughts (& still my prayers) up to you Mr. English.  We miss you here.  That moment still puts a smile on my face.

I still miss Jerry as I am sure many do. He was such an inspiration as my pastor and friend.  Love and prayers to you all!!!

Pastor Jerry was my pastor for over 40 years. He was a teacher, preacher and a friend. My boys and I remember him with such

I have known Preacher Jerry since I was little. He baptized me at Antioch many years ago! He was always such a great man of God, and didn't judge those who didn't believe. He genuinely had a heart of gold, and helped whoever he met! He also officiated my grandmothers funeral in 2019, and I will forever be thankful! God Bless you, Preacher Jerry.

We the Pamlico High Class of 1977 share your loss. Most of us had Mr English in our Jr High Years. We were at our Homecoming football game two weeks ago and we were talking about him. Sharing memories of our school days with him. Family you are in our thoughts and prayers 

I’ve known Jerry since 1969. He was my pastor for over 40 yrs.,  a true friend, a true man of God who preached to many!  I know when he reached his heavenly home God  said “welcome home good and faithful servant!”thoughts and prayers to his precious family! 

Mr. Jerry I will  never forgot when I use to come to vacation bible school you were so welcoming and encouraging . You always had a smile on your face and  a encouraging work to say. You will be missed by all.

Mr.English was the BEST teacher ever! He made history entertaining and memorable for the first time in my life.  He really enjoyed his work and it made a difference...atleast to me. 

I have such fond memories of Jerry.  We met in education classes at ECU. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 47 years.  Jerry  and  I became good friends.  My husband called me on my birthday to set our wedding date which was August 3, 1974.  He was stationed in Germany with the army.  I immediately knew that I wanted Jerry to perform our wedding ceremony.  So I asked Jerry if he would marry us.  Without batting an eye Jerry said honey I would love to marry you but I’m already married!!

Mr. Jerry always made me feel loved. He always had a hug and a joke too. He married my husband and I in 2011 and I was always so grateful that he was able to share in one of the happiest days of my life! I will certainly miss him, but I know Heaven is rejoicing! 

Patty and I thank The Lord for the over 50 year friendship we’ve had with Jerry. He became my pastor in the late 1960s and in November 1970 he put together a male quartet (soon to be known as The Four In Christ Quartet) that would sing at a Thanksgiving service that year. He truly loved Southern Gospel Music and proved to be a gifted music teacher and choir director. In 1978, Jerry led a prayer for healing for our 6 month old son. That son is healed today (2021) through the Power of God brought down by prayer. I have countless memories of singing and traveling with this man of God. So many have received Christ through his preaching, teaching, and singing. Until we meet again, in that Heavenly Choir!  Beck Bennett

Mr. English It was so nice to have you as a math teacher at Pamlico Jr. High School. You were so kind & understanding. Aways saw the good in everyone & I know your rejoicing in heaven today. You will be missed & such good memories  so many have of you.
