Terry, Adrian, Beverly, Little Jerry, Odell (Doris) and family

My heart breaks with each of you. I consider myself blessed to have been a part of your amazing family! I have so many memories of Jerry that I wouldn’t even know which one to share except for this one...gathering and eating at your mom and dads on Sunday afternoons. Sitting at the bar laughing as you’d hear the stories that were shared about each other’s day during the week! Your mom made sure that everyone had plenty to eat and was so quick to jump up to wait on you if you didn’t (I need the brand of the rice she cooked please...it was always the best). Being a mom myself I know how much those days meant to her. She would look forward to everyone coming in and gathering to together. My mind takes me to those memories because that was where Jerry was the happiest...spending time with his family.  Each of you had a piece of his heart and it overflowed with love. You were his rock and his reason for living. He wanted the best for each of you. There’s a special bond between each of you siblings that could never be broken. This just seems so unreal. I will always remember Jerry as a man that truly had a good heart. One that would stop and help someone in need even if he didn’t know them. I will always remember that sweet innocent but sneaky grin and the sound of his laughter.  I pray that God fills your mind and heart with so many good  memories. I know the days ahead are going to be even harder than today and there will be days that are harder than others. On those days I pray that God reminds you of those special memories. I pray that each one will give you comfort and allow you to feel his love and hear his laughter. I pray that God will hold you in his arms and give you the strength that is needed at that very moment. Jerry will be forever missed by all that had both the blessing and privilege to know him. Keeping each of you in my heart and prayers.

Jerry was a great man.  He was like a 2nd dad to me.  He would always give me hug and tell me I was like a daughter to him.  I’m going miss our talks and his contagious smile.  
I wish his granddaughters had longer with him.  Skyla was so excited to be getting her license soon and she could go see him as often as she wanted.  The girls loved for him to make Mrs Dees Mac and cheese.  
He will be missed.

I can't believe this is really real. I've always loved you thru everything. We went thru alot together. I know you're in a better place but i will always miss you forever and always. Give Jada a hug and kiss from gmom. Last thing we said to each other when we hung up the phone for the last time ever was " i love you." Rest in peace

I am so sorry to hear about Jerry's passing.  I remember him well from school, he was a character and a great person.  Sending prayers of peace and love to you all.  He lives on in your heart.

       Growing up on the family farm we worked side by side from sun-up to sun-down...disking, bottom plowing, bailing hay, mowing, harvesting, feeding livestock, etc.  I remember us waving at each other every pass in the field, it was so comforting knowing you were there.  We also spent many school summers pulling tobacco for a dear friend and neighbor,  Asa Martin Jr.,  Asa was a great role model to us two young teens.

We were fortunate to have supportive loving parents, and wonderful siblings.  Our parents didn't have to say much, we knew to get the job done as best we could.

You had a contagious smile, and a loving heart.  You were my hero.

I miss you.

You were truly a friend with lots of humor and tons of laughs.. Always caring a smile for everyone..  You told me one day in high school "keep smiling and let them wonder what your up too. See ya by the River.  Prayers for peace and comfort that only God can give your family..

Jerry you were a great person.  You always made fun of me when I dressed for my civil war events. We cared about each other but couldn't lived together.
