

Joanna Ipock Fornes, 64, of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 13th, 2021. She was a loving, devoted and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Her faith was strong and resilient and her greatest joy was to see people come to know the Lord. She saw the best in people and found the positive in any situation. Always planning events and gatherings, she was truly the glue that held the family together.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Fornes; her daughters, Paula Ange (Todd) and Melissa House (Blake); five grandchildren, Sarah Ange, Hannah Ange, Thomas Ange, Eva Ange and Cora House; stepfather, H.B. Riggs (Shelby); mother-in-law, Muriel Fornes; brothers, L.B. Ipock (Mary), Donald Ipock (Lori), Bruce “Jeff” Ipock (Tootsie), and Michael Ipock; sisters, Patsy Heath (Roger) and Teresa Hagan (Leonard); sisters-in-law, Cheryl Foy (Mike), Vickie Eason, and Susan Ipock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Linwood Bell Ipock; mother, Arlettie H. Riggs; brother, Larry Ipock; father-in-law, Leon Fornes; sister-in-law, Darlene Ipock; and grandson, Nathan Fornes.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 15th at West Vanceboro Church of God. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, August 16th at West Vanceboro Church of God with Pastors Brent Manning and Robert Worthington officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville, NC.
Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made in her name to benefit the Celebrate Recovery program at West Vanceboro Church of God or the American Cancer Society.
