

John is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Ipock Marker, daughter Cynthia Harris, and brother Harry Marker.
He is survived by sons; John D. Marker Jr. of Newport, NC, Timothy P. Marker of Fillmore, MO, daughter, Kimberly Brinson (Patrick) of Vanceboro, NC, sister, Connie Hammons of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren; Renee Kneessi (Nate) of Fillmore, MO, Haley Brinson of Vanceboro, NC, McKinsey McCollum (Jacob) of Vanceboro, NC, and great granddaughter, Presley McCollum.
John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He also served his country faithfuly for over 22 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a GySgt. After the Marine Corps, John started his second career at NADEP in Havelock, NC, retiring for a second time in 1997. He was a family oriented man and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Cotten Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial Will follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park.
