Karla Kay Holcombe

She attended Grants Creek Baptist Church and Croatan FWB Church. Karla graduated from White Oak High School and Appalachian State University. She was a teacher at Graham A. Barden Elementary School for 24 years. In retirement she enjoyed going out with her "crabby" friends, learning spanish, learning to shoot, and going on cruises.

Karla is survived by her son Jake Holcombe, one daughter, Katy Fedchenko (Jeff), two brothers, Mike Trott (Brownie), Luther Trott (Bonnie), two aunts Brenda "Boogie" Smith and Gloria Collins, mother-in-law, Nellie Holcombe and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her beloved dog George, and her granddogs. Karla is preceded in death by her husband Allen Holcombe as well as her parents Aaron and Marie Trott.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Maysville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Cotten Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society.
