FROM HIS SON:
Today I celebrate my best friend, my hero the guy I look up to the most and the person I will always strive to be. He was more than a dad or a father. He was my biggest supporter the person who taught me Rothmann’s never give up. And we don’t hire anyone to do anything for us. We will fix it. My “Pop” was the most selfless person I know, he would give anything to help someone even if that meant putting his own needs on the back burner. He taught me everything about being a man. He taught me how to treat people and how to be the “man” of the house and how to care for my family. My father was always there for me and my mother whenever we needed him, even if he worked all day and was just ready to rest. He would always make sure we were taking care of. The love he had for my mother was so true and effortless. He loved her so much. Never forgot a holiday or special occasion. Always went above and beyond for her. Whether spoiling with her favorite piece of jewelry or just bringing home her favorite snack. I can only hope and pray my marriage will model theirs. I have so many memories of my hero. I don’t have enough time or space to write them all down. What I would give to just hear him on the phone one last time “Kev, it’s dad” even though I already knew it was him from the caller id. Or to have one last note. He would always leave me notes in his distinct hand writing , as a kid. Something I never will forget. It is so hard to say goodbye or even just a see you later. I have so many questions for him. So much more advice I will need. So many more adventures I want to go on with him. So many projects I want to do. I just hope one day I can be half the man he was. He definitely did not deserve the cards he was dealt but in true Rothmann fashion he fought right until the end. Even in his weakest days, he make it a priority to be at my wedding, knowing it was the most important day for me. He loved my wife Katherine “Kat” like his own daughter and always asked about her every single time we spoke. His granddaughter Lacey was his favorite. “Pop Pop Kevin” Always had to make it a priority to give her cash and lottery tickets. It made him so happy to see her smile. Dad you will be greatly missed by everyone. There will never be a replacement. There will never be a day that goes by that you won’t be on my mind. I am glad you no longer are in pain. Rest easy “Pop” I love you forever.
FROM HIS SISTER:
Today I celebrate and honor my HERO, my brother Kevin. My brother was an amazing man who lived life to the fullest. He loved the simplest things in life and saw the beauty in everything! He was an amazing loving son to his mother, a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. A loving brother to his sister-in-law and brother-in-law. He loved and looked up to his older brother, Frank. He was an amazing loving husband to my dearest sister Kathy and an amazing loving father to his son Kevin, father-in-law to his beautiful new bride Kat, and his adoring granddaughter Lacey.
My brother Kevin was a very kind hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back or solve any problem or help you out no matter what time of the day! He was always there for you! Kevin was also very talented. He was an outstanding mechanic who could fix and put together anything! He enjoyed building and restoring old sport cars and trucks. He loved to construct, draw, surf and skateboard. But most of all he LOVED ALL OF US and loved life!
In the arms of Jesus, I know my brother will not suffer anymore and live in eternal peace!
I know Jesus has a special plan for him. He will always watch over, love, protect and guide us through our lives!
May God bless his soul!
WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH KEVIN!!! Rest my brother! Say Hi to everyone in heaven for us!
Love forever & ever,
Brenda, John, Jillian and Mom
