Legare is survived by her husband, Percy Thackston; two sons, Chris Thackston of Wilmington and Dryer Thackston and his wife, Kelly of Gaithersburg, MD; two daughters, Legare Warden of N. Charleston, SC and LeNoir Thackston of Raleigh; one brother, Comer Hobbs of Columbus, GA and three grandchildren, James Warden, Turner Thackston and Baeley Thackston.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School, 900 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27603-1689.
