Liam Delaney Carney

Liam Delaney Carney 22, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2018. Liam was born in Asheville, NC on July 17, 1995 to William Carney and Terri Edmundson. He is survived by his brother Russell Edmundson and grandmother Cathy Carney. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Edward Edwards.

Liam lived in Florida during his early childhood and then moved to Kinston, NC. Before graduating from North Lenoir High School he discovered his passion for theater arts where he participated in numerous school productions. After graduation he began attending UNC-PEMBROKE with a major in Theater Arts. He performed in Romeo and Juliet, The Neverending Story and most recently Momo. He assisted with production of many other student and university shows. His newest passion was learning to to play the guitar so he could one day play songs by his favorite musician Johnny Cash.

Among acting, musical arts, and sarcasm, one of Liam's favorite hobbies was gaming. From the day he could pick up a controller he was in action. Thousands of memories were made sitting right beside him and playing. Among hundreds of games one of the most influential was League Of Legends, just like real life, in game he preferred to play a supporting role, focusing on helping his teammates and friends, making sure they were safe. He was known online as a few usernames such as "PhinalPhantasy" and "TheEnemySpy". He will live on forever in everyones lives as they continue to carry on his legacy by playing not just the game, but the game we all got to have fun, laugh, and enjoy with him over the years. Once a teammate, always a teammate. Legends never die.

A celebration of life service will be held at Copper Ridge on the Neuse, 2706 Old Cherry Point Rd, New Bern, NC 28560. His service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 6:00 pm with a visitation/reception to follow the service.
