Linda Hayden Leavy

In 1942 Linda enlisted with the British ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) where she met an American soldier and the love of her life, Harry. They married in 1946 and raised three children in Greenlawn, NY. Linda and Harry retired to Seneca, SC and fell in love with the southern lifestyle. After Harry’s death, Linda remained in SC for many years but in 2007 decided to move close to her daughter Barbara in the Fairfield Harbour Community in New Bern, NC. Linda thrived in her new community and enjoyed spending time with her swim club, bridge club, solo flights and the many friends she easily made along the way.

Linda is survived by her son Paul (Kathy) of Winthrop, Mass, son Doug (Aleta) of Butler, PA and daughter Barbara of New Bern as well as her dear sister Pauline (Graham) of Los Gatos California and 22 nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Harry and sisters Bette, Rene and Jeanne.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Croatan Village Assisted Living in New Bern for caring for Linda for the past 3 ½ years.
