Martha Parker

Martha Belle Jones Parker, age 91, passed away peacefully August 20, 2020 in her home surrounded by family. She was born July 18, 1929 in Maysville, North Carolina to Fred and Florence. She married James Lafayette Parker, in January 1955 who preceded her in death in 1992. Her daughter Kathryn preceded her in death in 2014.

Martha was a strong and loving woman. Her kindness, faith and love transcended. Her hands were rarely still. She loved to sew, crochet, cook, garden and read until she was no longer able. Martha loved her family and was an amazing woman who lived her life to care for others and always help those in need.

For many years Martha worked at Montgomery Ward and retired from there. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Proverb 31:10 — “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”

Martha is survived by her grandson Jeremy and wife Shelley and granddaughter Amy and Kelly, and 6 great grandchildren Caleb, Jonah, Caitlyn, Violet, Jasper, Teddy and her nephew Zedic and great niece Dolores.

She touched so many people through her life and she was “everyone’s Granny.”

A private service will be held for family.
