Michael Lynn Edwards Sr.

Michael Lynn Edwards Sr., born on April 17, 1963, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 62. A resident of New Bern, North Carolina, Michael was a brave, compassionate, and faithful individual who was known for his gentle nature and hard-working spirit. His honest and kind-hearted demeanor, coupled with his loyalty, selflessness, and wisdom, left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Michael was honorably discharged from the US Army. He was an electrician by trade, a testament to his dedication and skill in his profession. Later he pursued a career as a safety engineer at Procter & Gamble in Greenville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Iva Cumbee Edwards, and two sisters, Phyllis Keel and Pamela Edwards. Michael is survived by his beloved wife, "Babydoll" Dale Bryant Edwards, his daughter, MaRanda Edwards, and his son, Michael Lynn Edwards II. He also leaves behind one brother, Joseph Edwards, one sister, Brenda Tripp, and four cherished grandchildren, Skylie, Elias, Phoenix, and Ocean.

In his personal life, Michael was a family man who deeply loved his entire family. He found joy in gardening, fishing, bottle hunting, and metal detecting, hobbies that reflected his love for nature and exploration.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the pavillion in New Bern Memorial on Chelsea Rd, in New Bern.

Michael's legacy of kindness and dedication will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
