She was a member of Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Ray Burgess.
She is survived by her daughters Alice of Nashville, NC and Sandy Conway of Wilmington, NC; her sisters Evelyn Rouse of New Bern, NC and Elizabeth Middendorf of Mulvane, KS; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Thursday, November 6 at 11:30 am at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at New Bern National Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
