Neil Thomas Ebron, 61, of Riverdale, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Neil was born at St. Lukes, on September 15, 1962, in New Bern, North Carolina to Thomas Jackson Ebron and Mary Lou Roland Ebron.
Neil was a loving daddy to Sarah and Tyler who raised them to love the outdoors and be independent. He worked his entire life to provide for his family. He loved to fish and hunt, especially deer hunting where he was always looking for the next deer for the wall, "Muy Grande". This love instilled a passion for hunting and fishing in his children and grandsons. Most importantly he would have wanted everyone to know nothing beats Remington or Honda, and Lynyrd Skynyrd was the greatest band of all time. He was a beloved "GaGa" to Jackson and Nolan taking every moment to spoil them rotten. He never missed a chance to brag about them.
Neil met the love of his life, Roberta, on a school bus in middle school where he told his best friend, Norman Ray, "That girl is going to be the mother of my children." Neil and Roberta shared a unique relationship with ups and downs that was full of love, sarcasm, and jokes with the same common goals. Together they wanted to have a life that was dedicated to their children and grandsons. There was nothing he would not do for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and his small circle of friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 47 years Roberta Swartz Ebron, daughter Sarah Ebron Joyner and her husband Brian Joyner, son Tyler Maxwell Ebron, grandsons Jackson Luke Joyner and Nolan Thomas Joyner, two sisters Montine Mayo (Eddie) and Trudy Ferrell (Randy), his younger brother Andy Mac Ebron, sister in laws Eileen Swartz Whitby (Ray), Julie Swartz Brandt (Brian) and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the CarolinaEast Community Paramedics; Jerome Rollins and Phillip Laxton who tirelessly and faithfully cared for Neil which allowed him to spend more time with family making memories.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 1PM to 2PM at Cotten Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel at 2PM. He will be laid to rest following the service at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
