Patricia Ann Dixon

The funeral service will be held Sunday October 2, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro.

Mrs. Dixon began her career in telecommunications at Carolina Telephone in Down Town New Bern. Over the course of her career, the company saw many changes, one of which carried her to Rocky Mount for many years. Another changed the name to Sprint, the company from which she would later retire. She spent retirement enjoying her grandchildren and all of the baseball, football, basketball, cheerleading, gymnastics, dance recitals, band concerts, parades, plays and awards ceremonies that came with them.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis Dixon Sr.; two sons Dennis Dixon Jr. and wife, Nichole of Vanceboro, Chris Dixon and wife, Angel, of Bridgeton; eight grandchildren, Drew Hill, Paige Dixon, Nicholas Gray, Claron Mims, Landon Gray, Kylie Dixon, Riley Dixon, Makinley Dixon; two brothers. Jerry Gibson and Jack Gibson, both of New Bern; one sister, Penny Reams, of Fayetteville, NC and 12 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Lisa Gibson; and her parents, Louise and Jerry Gibson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Cotten.
